Sex and Nudity on DM

Parents - are you worried about your kids watching inappropriate stuff on YouTube?
Forget about YouTube, there are other sites that kids go to and watch videos. I am
writing about what I found on one of those sites. It is my opinion that you should
monitor kids when they go online and if you read this article, you will understand
why you should do this.
I was reading the other articles on this site about sex on YouTube. The writer was
saying that there is not a lot of nudity on YouTube and that is true. But there is
another video site that a lot of people go to. It is very popular too. YouTube is
ranked 4 on Alexa but this site is ranked 85 which means it gets a lot of traffic.
Let's call this other site DM. I don't want kids looking it up so I'm just going to
use its initials in this article. This article is for parents anyway so if you're
a kid, go somewhere else!
The company behind this site is headquartered in Paris, France but the Terms Of Service
say the site "is based solely in New York" so I guess it has to follow US laws. Just
like YouTube, you're supposed to be at least 13 to register for an account. If you're
13 to 17 you are supposed to have the consent of your parent or legal guardian to
be on the site. DM has a "Family Filter" because "Certain content is not suitable
for all audiences... Activating the Family Filter helps prevent younger users from
accessing explicit content." But all you have to do to deactivate the Family Filter
is Click "I am over 18 - set Family Filter OFF"
There is a page on the site about Prohibited Content. It says you can send them a
letter or email if you find the following on their site: any sexually explicit content
(including but not limited to images of rape, bestiality, intercourse, masturbation,
sadistic or masochistic abuse, explicit depiction of male or female genitalia or pubic
areas, pedophilia or necrophilia).
Hey, if you're 18 or older and it's legal in your country to watch sexy videos with
nudity, then I guess there's nothing wrong with visiting this site. But like that
other writer said, you wouldn't want your kids to see these videos. And not all the
videos on DM are "sexy" - that is only one category of videos. They have all the other
common types of videos like Funny, News and Politics, Animals, Gaming etc. But there
are videos with nudity on DM and some that may be considered Prohibited Content by
some people.
So just how easy is it to find naked girls and ladies on DM?
This is what I found very easily!
I went to a search site and typed in some keywords like nude, nudist, naked, teen,
along with the name of the site, and was easily able to watch videos right there on
the results page. I found a lot of videos with topless girls on beaches. There's a
thumbnail from one of the videos on the left. I air brushed out the nipples - this
article is not about showing nudity! Look, if you're over 18 and its legal in your
country and you want to look at videos like this, fine, go ahead. But if you're a
mom or dad and you have young kids, you might not want them to see these videos.
Next I wanted to see if there were videos on DM that might be "Prohibited Content."
So I searched for words that mean "female genitalia" - I'm not even going to type
those words here - and I found some videos. The thumbnail at the left is an example,
air brushed again. I'm not saying it was a close up or anything but you could clearly
see stuff. The three girls in this video were naked at the beach and didn't seem to
mind. Whatever, I guess it doesn't hurt anyone to show themselves to the world if
its their choice, and again if you're old enough and want to watch, it might be okay
as long as you still respect women and don't start thinking of them as just sex objects.
But should your kids see this?
Finally I searched for something more sexual. I wanted to see what results I would
get if I searched for masturbation. You can see a thumbnail of one video I found on
DM. The girl was topless and was playing with her breasts as well as rubbing on her
private parts. According to the Terms Of Service, stuff like this is not supposed
to be on DM. And the bad thing is, all the videos like this are just ads for porn
sites. They all have a link you can type in to visit their sites. You should never
go to any sites like this! First of all, you may see things you really shouldn't be
looking at. And then there is a threat of a computer virus. This could get you in
legal trouble. Look at this News Article that talks about viruses and websites that can
put child pornography on your computer. You can end up in jail over this so be careful!
The article says, "If someone were to go to a legal adult porn site, it's possible
that the browser would open 100 different windows, including some that could contain
child porn. As a result of that, any images on any of these sites would be cached,
and there would be a record that you had been there." Now suppose your kid watched
one of these videos and went to one of these porn sites. Next thing you know, there
could be a knock at the door from the Police. I'm serious, read this news article
- it happened to one guy and he had to spend $250,000 on legal fees just to stay out
of jail. You don't want this to happen to you!
So I think you can see that it is a good idea to keep an eye on your kids when they
go on the computer. It is very easy for them to come across videos with naked people,
some of them doing sexual things. Some of these videos try to get you to go to porn
sites and you really don't want your kids to go there!
