Coming Of Age Review, Supernatural Girl Power!
Coming of Age, Book One of The Dark Horse Chronicles is officially my new favorite
book. Daniel Freeman the Author of this work of fiction is a talented story teller
and has learned how to keep the reader invested in his story from start to finish.
He will have you routing for his character's and finding yourself wanting to know
more and more. This book does have some adult content, but not to over the top and
those scenes are well written. The development of his characters is well thought out
and adds to the overall story development.
I know there are a lot of stores out now days about Vampires and Lycans but Mr. Freeman
brings them to the 21st century where you can understand how they live and survive
in today's world. This book has powerful Vampires, Lycans, and Sorcerers all rounding
out the supernatural world that this book focuses on. The way these different groups
interact and live together is a harsh but accurate view of all people in today's life.
Not only will you love the story line but I believe people will also love the character
interactions, especial between Angel, Riza and Rachel.
Angel the lead character of this story is a young woman who is the embodiment of girl
power. She is smart, powerful and the next in line to lead her Clan, the most powerful
of all Vampire Clans. Throughout the story you follow her on her journey to live up
to the expectations of her family while training herself to be strong enough to survive
in her dangerous world. Her life of privilege may not foster the beliefs of many,
but with her quick wit and eagerness to prove herself, she quickly wins everyone over.
Riza who is a Lycan is Angel's best friend, from the start of the book you can see
how strong their bond is and the love they have for each other. Riza helps Angel through
her transformation from a Halfling to a powerful adult vampire and during this time
you learn how these two powerful women came to be so close. Riza is a strong willed
and powerful Lycan who has to overcome her prejudice of vampires to even consider
being Friends with Angel. Little did they know that as children meeting and becoming
friends would help her to do this and become a strong moving force for equality in
the supernatural world.
Rachel is Angel's bonded human, I don't want to tell everyone to much about this as
it will take from the story, but for a human she sure does fit into the supernatural
world. Rachel is strong and caring and becomes the perfect addition to Angel and Riza's
life. The way she accepts her bonding to Angel and her life as a human in the supernatural
world makes her a very endearing and unique character. The reader gets to follow Rachel
as she grows and learns her place in her new world, and slowly becomes a part of the
family she was brought into.
Throughout this book these characters and many more will have to fight to remain hidden
in a world where humans know nothing of the supernatural's existence. These different
groups have to work together to keep themselves and the ones they love safe not only
from mankind but from rival supernatural groups. Will Angel be able to master her
powers and help her clan stay strong and safe? Will Riza being a Lycan be able to
help Angel on her journey of self-discovery in her new life as an adult Vampire? Will
the Vampires let her? Will Rachel be able to survive in a world of supernaturals being
These ladies may have their hands full trying to make the supernatural world safe
for themselves and their loved ones, but together they are a force to be reckoned
with. After all would you want to mess with three powerful supernatural women of the
21st century... I thought not!
I hope everyone enjoys this book as much as I did, and I can't wait for the second
one to get here. If you would like to check this book out it is available on Amazon,
Kendal, Apple, and most eBook sites. Click this link here to find it on Amazon.com:

Want to know more about Daniel Freeman? He just started a facebook page for his book
"Coming Of Age" here:
had the honor of interviewing Mr. Freeman over the phone, he is a down to earth, easy
to talk to young man,
with talent and perseverance. Read on to find out more about this promising young
you so much Mr. Freeman for taking the time out to talk to me about your new book.
I have to ask who influenced you as an author while growing up?
I was younger I liked to read books by R.L Stine and even some Ann Rice. I was drawn
to paranormal works even then. Now days I read Laurell K. Hamilton, P.C Cast, Jeannie
Frost, and Christen Feehan.
agree they are amazing authors, but your talent shows a style of its own not following
any one else's, How long did it take you to come up with the concept for this book
and then write it?
concept of the book just came to me one night when I was going through a particularly
bad bout of insomnia. I wrote down the ideas I was having and was then able to go
right to sleep. When I woke up I went over my notes and stared writing and six months
later had a book.
there one character you relate to more then the others? If so why??
would say Rachel because she is the outsider brought into this new life without any
choice of her own. I have felt like that before in my own life.
you always known you wanted to be a writer? Can you pick out the moment you decided
to sit down and start writing this book?
I always wanted to be a nurse and did so for about ten years till an injury ended
my ability to perform my job. Don't get me wrong I had off and on throughout my life
wanted to write a book, even started a few times but never really got anywhere with
it. Then after I got hurt and had my idea for this book it's all I could think about,
and all I have wanted to do from that point on.
there any hardships you have had to deal with in your life that made you feel writing
was an escape or a good way to deal with personal problems in your life?
was never an escape for me, but reading was. No matter what was going on in my life
I could read a good book and let it take me away from my problems for a wile. I now
find myself wanting to be able to do that for other people.
vampires and the such? What about them fascinated you enough to want to write a book
in a world already full of vampire novels and movies?
think it's that they are so alluring and different then people in my everyday world.
I like that they are long lived, they have powers, and yet despite all that they still
have to live life just like the rest of us.
you could have the power of one of your characters in your book, who's would it be
would want to be able to control the element just because it would be awesome.
makes you feel that this book is different
from all the other vampire novel out there?
think that my characters are very original, and the relationships and situations I
have them going through are different than other Vampire books.
Mr. Freeman if I may ask a few personal questions so your readers can learn a little
about you! Are you married or seeing anyone right now? Do you have any children, would
you like more or some in the future? How old are you? What inspires you everyday?
And last for personal questions, how may fans contact you?
have never been married and am at the present time single. I don't have any kids and
don't see any in my future, but one never knows what will happen when the right one
comes into your life. I am 36 years old and find myself most inspired by the words
of encouragement I get from my family and friends. I have been lucky enough to have
been contacted by several of my fans, I still find it overwhelming that there are
people out there that love my writing and want more of it. To contact me, stop by
my facebook page and leave me a note. I answer all questions and comments.
last of the last, when can your new fans expect another book from you? I know this
fan can't wait to read what happens next!

it to be complete by the middle of this year.
